If you prayed to get saved, then you are deceived. To put it simply, prayer, in the scriptures, is a WORK. That is clear. And if you have any bible knowledge in you, you should think, “But we are not saved by works”. And, that is true. For the scriptures clearly teach that “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast” Then, you may be unaware of the scriptures that clearly teach of prayer being a work. Consider these words of God;
 
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. (Colossians 4:12)
 
Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; (Romans 15:30)
 
In the above scriptures it is clear that prayer is something you labour in, it is something you strive in. We do not labour or strive for the gift of Salvation. In fact, God himself tells a lost man, who is under the law, to STOP his mouth.
 
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.(Romans 3:19)
 
It is important to understand that the only thing a lost man can DO to be saved from the Lake of Fire is to believe. Belief is the only thing a lost man can do that is not a work.
 
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.(Romans 4:5)
 
If you believe the above scriptures, the last thing to understand is what exactly God tells a lost man to DO to get their sins forgiven. That can be found in the first four chapters in Romans(listed in the Salvation tab of this website), specifically Romans 3:24-26. Go there and learn how to have all your sins forgiven, the way God tells you to do so.

If you do not believe the above scriptures, simply take a white out pen and go over those Words of God so you have a bible that best fits what you think.

Cannot God get his pure Word in the English language? of course. So why is there SO many different translations? The answer. . . .
